:Edit: So, Byrd proved that I’m retarded and the Fcc isn’t responsible for movies, lol. But you know what?! FUCK ‘em anyway! You should still read this.
DAMN IT! FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK YOU, FCC!!
You can suck my friggin’ nuts!
If you didn’t throw big whiny faggoty bitch sissy fits then movie companies could show me what they wanted to show me!
But noooooo, you’ve got to be a bunch of big stupid PUSSIES!!!
AHHH!!!!
Okay….. I’m breathing now…..
So, what had happened was… I just watched Taken at the movie theatre. The previous version that I viewed was the original French version and it was far superior. Don’t get me wrong, it’s still a great movie and Liam Neeson should win something for being such an awesome actor. However, EVERY SINGLE PART of the movie that made me love it soo much was either censored or COMPLETELY RESHOT. Yes, ladies and gentlemen, completely reshot.
I must explain myself, so be warned…
:BEGIN SPOILER:
First, the torture scene. The giant rusty nails are gone. They don’t get shoved deep into Marco’s thighs like in the original and we lose the close-ups of his veins bursting from his neck.
Second, right after the interrogation/auction scene when Liam Neeson is leaving the room, NO HEAD SHOT. Yeah, you know, the one where the guys blood sprays the wall? It’s gone.
Then, when Liam confronts Saint Claire in the elevator Liam only shoots him ONCE to kill him. Not like in the original where Liam empties a whole clip into the guy’s chest for selling his daughter.
Moving on, the Audi theft scene, instead of slamming the guys mouth into the roof of the car and then crushing his scull in the door jamb, Liam just knocks the man’s head into the roof and leaves.
I will just compile the last two. Basically, both of the head shots inside the boat…. yeah, they don’t happen.
:END SPOILER:
All in all, the movie is great. I strongly suggest anyone interested to definitely see it, fuck it, go watch it even if you are not interested. I do, however, urge you to come to my house and watch the French version afterward. It’s worth it.
Lastly, tell the FCC to go fuck themselves when you get a chance. Stop watering down my entertainment!

I feel your pain sir. I really do. However, I don’t think that the FCC is responsible for the changes that you speak of. Here is what I think may have happened.
This started out as an independent film in France. It was shown at a movie festival or shopped around and a larger company bought the distribution rights to the film. That company then shops it out to American companies and the American company wants to pick it up for distribution here in the states.
So now the movie is going to be released here. But after seeing the film, the MPAA (Motion Picture Association of America) gives it an R rating. Well this won’t fly with the distribution company so they reshoot a few scenes to eliminate some violence and possibly a couple of instances of the f bomb. Now the film has a “family friendly” PG-13 rating and the distribution company is happy.
The MPAA could be held responsible due to the ratings system but the FCC is not at fault here. The FCC would only have something to do with it if it were broadcast on television or radio.

You know what? I didn’t even realize that they rated it pg 13. Oh well…. whatever happened, someone needs to die. But thanks or clearing up my misinterpretations of the movie industry.
